Without Lewis, we were no match against CSKA

BC Kalev/Cramo continued their VTB United League season in Moscow where they had to admit 75:102 (38:54) defeat to the European powerhouse Moscow CSKA.

CSKA who is undefeated in both VTB and Euroleague started the game fired up – thanks to Nando De Colo, Will Clyburn and Othello Hunter, the grew the lead to double digits fast and had no problems in the first quarter by winning it 31:14!

Without the injured Chavaughn Lewis Kalev managed to win the second quarter 24:23 and in the beginning of the third quarter climb back to 12 points but CSKA didn’t let that rattle them and sailed to an easy victory til the end.

Kalev couldn’t keep up with CSKA’s speed and strength (CSKA made 34 of 37 free-throws) while getting beaten in the rebounding category 26:37.

Ivan Almeida finished with 18 points and 5 rebounds, while Janari Jõesaar had 13 points. Reggie Lynch scored 11 points and added 5 rebounds and 3 blocks,  Kitsing who made three threes finished with 9 and Landen Lucas with 9 points and 7 rebounds. For CSKA Hunter finished with 19 and Clyburn with 17 points.

Kalev (1-2) will continue their VTB season on saturday when they host Saraatovi Avtodor in Sakur Suurhall.
