BC Kalev/Cramo returns from the cold Krasnojarsk with a great win, as they defeated the hosting Jenissei 91:88 while being down 11 points with seven minutes remaining. Kalev took the win thanks to a brilliant 22:9 run led by Branko Mirkovic who scored 10 points during that period.
He and Isaiah Briscoe both finished with 20 points, a great performance by veteran Kristjan Kangur who finished with 10 while both Jõesaar and van der Mars finished with 9 points. It was Mirkovic’s long range shot with minute and a half to go which gave Kalev the lead. And in the nervous final minute both teams went scoreless.
Kalev won the rebounding battle against a top rebounding team 46:29 while grabbing 12 offensive rebounds. A big reason to help the team to victory was great free-throw shooting (20/23) and good shooting from behind (7/17). 14 turnovers against opponents 5 balanced the game. Kalev now has 4 wins and 9 losses which gives them the 9th place in the league table. Parma and Tsmoki have also four wins but seven losses.
Next game in VTB will be a home game against powerhouse UNICSI on 12th of February.
