BC Kalev/Cramo started Estonian-Latvian play-offs against Tartu Ülikool well and made a big step towards Final Four. BC Kalev/Cramo was missing starting point guard Branko Mirkovic and hosts Tartu was missing both of their best rebounders – Julius Kazakauskas and Tautvydas Šlezas.
Game started tight as Tartu was leading 10:7 in the half-way mark of the first quarter but Kalev/Cramo went on a 13:0 run to help win the first quarter. Velicka tried his hardest to get Tartu back in the game and thanks to a three made in the final seconds of the first half by Hermet the teams went into the halftime break Tartu up by 1.
Kalev came back from the break fired up and got an early 10:0 run to regain the lead and was in fron 59:49 going into the fourth where Tartu tried and tried but Kalev/Cramo outpowered them and took a 25 point lead going into the second game.
Reggie Lynch had 18 points and 8 rebounds, Lewis added 14 points and 9 assists, Kurbas 13, Salash 12 and Kitsing 11 points. For Tartu Hermet had 26 points, Velicka added 14 points and 6 assists .
