A solid lead and a great performance from Lewis was not enough

After losing all four previous games against VEF Kalev/Cramo was looking for a revenge in a crucial game in the Estonian-Latvian play-offs.

Kalev started off better and won the first quarter 25:20 and thanks to eight points from Wroten and baskets from Lewis, Lynch and Mirkovich the hosts won the first half 47:33. The second half started of well as Lewis made a three and grew the lead to 17 points but VEF was not willing to let the game go. Ate and Miller made threes, Zack scored from the post and moments later the score was 52:50, the lead had dissapeared. The final quarter started with VEF leading 59:57, even though Wroten managed to tie the game VEF was rolling and there wasn’t anything that could stop them.

VEF took a well deserved victory and will face Ventspils in the final as Kalev/Cramo will play Ogre for the bronze.

Artis Ate had 19, Mejeris 17 points and 11 rebounds while Zack added 16 points and 9 boards for VEF. Lewis had a game high 32 points, Wroten added 14 and Moultrie 10 points and 6 rebounds for Kalev.
