The downswing continues, VEF takes a win in front of the home crowd

BC Kalev/Cramo took their fourth loss in a row in VTB as the hosting Riga VEF took a crucial 74:82 (37:31) home win against the visiting Kalev/Cramo.

Kalev, who is still missing Erik Keedus and Tanel Sokk, started the game well and won the first quarter 20:15 and thanks to one Landen Lucas having a great first half, Kalev grew the lead and the teams went into the half-time 37:31.

VEF game into the second half re-born as they took the initiative straight out the gate and made a 29:10 run in ten minutes. Going into the fourth, VEF had a 13 point lead which they held on to nicely as Kalev only managed to come as close as 8 points.

VEF was on fire from the deep, making 14 out of their 31 threes while also winning the rebounding game – 37:31

Returning from an injury, Chavaughn Lewis had 19, Kristjan Kitsing 14 and Reggie Lewis 13 points. Playing without Mareks Mejeris, Artis Ate led the way for VEF as he finished with 23 and Andrejs Gra┼żulis with 17 points.

Moscow CSKA continues at the top of VTB league table with Khimki, both are undefeated (5-0) while Kalev and VEF share the 12th spot (1-4).
