Painful loss at Minsk

BC Kalev/Cramo suffered their eight loss in VTB as a tight game against Tsmoki Minsk ended with 84:87 (37:44) win for the hosts. Kalev sits at the bottom of the league table while Tsmoki is currently holding the seventh place.

After being down the whole game, making two good comebacks Kalev managed to take the lead 72:71 lead with four minutes to go. But after making mistakes in some crucial plays, Chris Czerapowicz made a clutch three with 9 seconds to go to give Tsmoki a comfortable 4 point lead. Branko Mirkovic made a quick three at the end but it was not enough as the hosts made 2 of 2 of their free-throws with 0,6 seconds left and no time-outs. What happened 1,5 seconds before the end will probably haunt Briscoe a little bit as he tried to miss the layup for a free-throw chance but it went in despite throwing the ball at the rim.

Briscoe finished with 27 points for BC Kalev/Cramo while Mirkovic added 15. For Tsmoki, 37-year old Aliaksandr Kudrautsau had a nice outing wit 23 points while with the clutch three, Czerapowicz had 20 points. Despite having better shooting percentages Kalev just wasn’t able to even out the free-throw game the hosts had 30 points from the charity stripe against our 17, which was one of the key factors.

On 17th of December, BC Kalev/Cramo will host Riga VEF in the big “Baltic derby” at Saku Suurhall.
