Despite a great start and a brave fight, BC Kalev/Cramo couldn’t manage to take their first win in an away game against Saratov Avtodor and is winless after four games.
After leading the whole first quarter, Kalev/Cramo gave the lead away in the second quarter when the hosts went on a 0:15 run and Kalev found themselves down 24:30 and after a while 31:41 and went to the half down by 8. The third quarter saw both teams fighting for the lead as Saratov went into the fourth with a five point lead. Sten Sokk made two threes and Cedric Simmons scored which gave Kalev a 67:66 lead five minutes before the end and 69:68 three minutes before the end. Unfortunately in the crucial moments, the shots didn’t go and a few turnovers slipped in while the hosts played almost perfect making all 6 of their shots in the final two minutes and took a 82:77 (47:39) win.
Only 174cm Justin Robinson had 21 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for Avtodor, while Coty Clarke added 16 points and 8 rebounds. For BC Kalev/Cramo, somewhat surprisingly Martin Dorbek led the way with 15 points (13 points in the first half). Not bad from a player who has averaged 2,4 points so far in his VTB Career. Simmons, Sokk, Keedus and Subotic all scored in double-digits. Branko Mirkovic added 9 assists. Kalev had a good shooting night behind the arc making 12/27 (44%) but had 5 more turnovers, Avtodor had 25 points from our turnovers against our 7 points. Fast break points were also 15-2 two the hosts.
United league will continue on the 5th november for BC Kalev/Cramo when we host Zenit.
