BC Kalev/Cramo announced the re-signing of Roberts Stelmahers, the 45-year old head coach did an excellent job with the team last season and was eager to get the opportunity to finish what he started.
“After the abrupt end to last season, when we were in good shape and playing great basketball, I felt the need to have a chance to finish what I started,” said freshly signed Roberts Stelmahers.
According to the Latvian, the season ending early due to the pandemic does not change the teams goals for the next season – to win Estonian-Latvian Basketball League, to make the play-offs in VTB League and to win the Estonian Championship.
Stelmahers prefers to first sign the best Estonian players and then finish the squad with foreign players. That’s the style he has taken to all the clubs he has coached and he wants to keep it like that, so the local players would develop to be stronger players after the season. He also added, that a very important part in the upcoming season is to get people excited and come cheer for the team, by playing good basketball.
In addition to Stelmahers, BC Kalev/Cramo also came to agreement with both assistant coaches from last season – Akselis Vairogs and Indrek Reinbok and both physios Priit Lehismets and Harvis Mill.
