BC Kalev/Cramo has reached an agreement with guard Isaiah Briscoe (21, 188cm) who comes from one of the best universities in the NCAA Kentucky, led by John Calipari.
With his athleticism and aggressiveness, Isaiah already stood out in high-school in 2015 an was on of the top recruits that year and was compared as a “bull in a porcelain shop” (nbadraft.net). Prior to this years NBA draft, he got good reviews on his defense and his penetration skills, while also giving props for feisty rebounding and leadership skills. On the negative side, not the greatest shooting from mid-range nor three and being a little bit of a tweener – not great skills for a point guard and on the small side of a shooting guard. But that of course in the NBA context.
He went undrafted and represented Philadelphia 76ers in the Summer League and got an invitation to Portland for the pre-season which didn’t pan out. In 2014 he won the U18 world title with USA with team-mates like Jaylen Brown and Justice Winslow. As a Kentucky Wildcat he averaged 10,9 points, 5,4 rebounds and 3,7 assists in two seasons – while averaging a little bit more than one three a game. Kentucky made it to Elite Eight in March Madness where they lost to North Carolina (Maik-Kalev Kotsar) after which Briscoe declared for the draft.
